Halloween and Your Household Insurance
October 31st may be Halloween but it also is the day in the year when home owners are most likely to experience damage to their home/property. For most people Halloween is a time for harmless fun, for children to dress up and be given lost of sweets; but occasionally pranks can go too far and cause damage and/or injuries.
Typically household insurance claims include broken windows, theft and damage by disgruntled ‘trick-or-treaters’ throwing eggs or flour. So it is always a good idea to be extra diligent in securing your home – make sure all windows/doors/etc. are closed and locked. Keep your lights on, both inside and outside as houses, where it looks like no one is at home, will be easier targets for Halloween vandalism.
